Case Study - Libyan Tourism Office
Exhibition: World Travel Market 2007
Venue: ExCel Centre, London, UK
Stand Size: 192 sq. metres (12m x 16m island site)
Budget: £35k
Background:
From an initial phone call, Access Displays was asked to design and build an exhibition stand for the leading tourism show, 'World Travel Market 2007', taking place in London in only 5weeks!
Further discussions with the client, enabled a comprehensive brief to be developed. The stand would be dynamic, practical and reflect the ancient history and diversity of the Libyan culture. Although imposing, the stand would need to be welcoming to visitors, have excellent traffic flow and be visually impressive, whilst clearly representing Libya in all aspects.
Pitch:Access Displays' Managing Director, Neil Brown comments, "We are finding that an increasing number of clients are looking for environmentally friendly solutions, or at least are open to the overall concept, which is now included as part of our normal design pitch." The stand would be manufactured using stock components and supporting tubes (made from compressed, multi- layered cardboard coils), and would be 90% recyclable. In addition all graphics would be printed on a biodegradable twill material, using non-toxic inks, and the entire stand set painted with water-based paints. Agreeing this approach, the design and construction details were approved, by the client, and full working drawings produced.
Result:A successful outcome! "We certainly stood out at the show, with the volume of visitors exceeding all expectations. The stand was completed within budget and the build and project management were excellent. I was very pleased with the overall outcome of the show." Mr. Anwar Mexwaghi of WAHA expo, representing the Libyan Tourism Office.
