Setup Guide
Please ensure that all elements used in your documents are supplied including imported EPS files, TIFF files and all fonts. Please note: when supplying fonts ensure that both the screen font suitcase and each printer font is supplied i.e. if using Quark use the "Collect for Bureau" on the file menu and then copy your fonts to the same folder.
All files should be single file CMYK. After years of extensive use with various packages QuarkXpress is the only package that generally works without fail so is preferable. (Please do not send Quark EPS's). (Below are further Quark guidelines)
Create your artwork at 1.4 size (i.e.: divide ALL your measurements by 4) we cannot work with files created smaller than this, however you may work at same size or 1.2 size if using smaller sizes. Create your pages exactly edge to edge; do not create your own crops.
QuarkXpress crops work fine. All documents must incorporate some bleed (at least 8mm S.S or 2mm 1.4 size). If designing systems for modular displays or very large format work bear in mind that the maximum width of the plotter is 1200mm (1316mm without any
crops or bleed). So design your Quark document accordingly.
Example: Compact systems usually consist of 4 panels of 673mm wide each (2226mm deep) so design your page as a spread of 4 pages which are 168.25mm wide each & 556.5mm deep.
For Illustrator documents check output resolution is at least 1200dpi. Enlarge Illustrator images to approximately A4 size as images smaller can print with "Facet" edges, save as EPS and include placed images. Convert all text to paths in Illustrator and Freehand. Do not rotate raster EPS files in any package.
PhotoShop Tips
When working at 1.4 size minimum pixels per inch (ppi) are 288 dpi so at final size 72 dpi. Large scans are to be JPEGED within an EPS file. - Not DCS EPS
(JPEGED)
